What can Send to Eagle help you do?

Send to Eagle is a browser extension for designers, illustrators and AI creators. It brings visual references and post context from X, Threads and more into your own Eagle library, rather than creating another cloud collection service.

How do you save images, videos and prompts to Eagle?

Install the extension, start Eagle and open the capture panel from an X or Threads post with media. Select only the images or videos you need, choose Eagle folders and tags, and edit the post text, author replies or their combination. Saving keeps the source URL and notes with the asset so you can check its origin later. Available media versions depend on the original post and provider; not every video has a 4K or lossless original.

How do you share a post that has no image?

A post without media opens the share-card panel. Posts with media can reach it from the capture panel too. Edit text and author details, choose a theme, text size, ratio and identity privacy options, then copy the preview image or download a PNG. Saving a card to Eagle requires the desktop application; copying and downloading do not. The website experience uses sample content, and its simulated save never writes to your library.

Why must the Eagle desktop app be running?

The extension uses Eagle’s local API instead of relaying your assets through our servers. When Eagle is closed, that save interface is unavailable. Eagle must be installed and running for real archiving. The interactive website does not test your Eagle connection, and a demo result does not give it access to your library.

Where do assets, save history and account information go?

Eagle manages saved assets. Today’s save history, language, theme and card preferences are stored in the browser. To resolve original images and video sources, the extension processes necessary request information in page memory and makes functional requests to supported platforms, media providers and local Eagle. The website does not request account logins or access the local Eagle API. Captured content is not sent to a project-operated content collection server.

Which details are backed by official documentation?

These sources explain Eagle’s requirements and API fields. They do not imply that Eagle endorses this extension. Our support and privacy pages describe this product’s own behavior.

“the Eagle API server will start up when Eagle App is opened”

Official Eagle API overview

Eagle’s official documentation states that its local API starts with the app. Real saves therefore require Eagle to be running.

The import documentation lists website, tags, annotation and folderId. These fields let the source, notes and destination travel with the asset. Official Eagle image-import API

Before you begin.

Do I need Eagle installed?

Saving media, page bookmarks, or share cards to Eagle requires Eagle installed and running on the same computer, with access to its local API on port 41595. Copying or downloading share cards does not require Eagle.

Which languages are supported? Are posts translated?

The interface supports English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Changing the interface language does not translate original post text, author content, or replies.

Are content sources preserved?

Capturing from X and Threads keeps the original post link and author details. You can edit post text and selected author replies before saving them as Eagle item notes. Context-menu page bookmarks use information from the current page.

What quality are saved images and videos?

Quality depends on the files provided by the platform or media source and the versions currently accessible. The extension does not upscale low-resolution media or guarantee original or lossless files for every item.
